Ivan first met Ensio at a party where Ensio was playing some of his old material with an ancient monophonic synthesizer. Drunk as he was, Ivan mistook Ensio's lack of talent for genius and wanted to make music with him. Thus, they went and formed the band Demigods of Sound.
It all finally started in 2003, as Ivan started to compose and play songs to his first true love, that he had just met. He soon learned, that women (in generally) don't like videogame music, or cover songs made of them. Luckily though, His girlfriend didn't mind the fact, that Ivan wasn't a good composer.

At the beginning of 2005, one cold Sunday morning, Ivan's first true love had run away without a trace. Later on that day, as Ivan was walking to home from the local pub, he was stopped by two big pimps. 'Mr. Dolowitz, I assume', said the other one. The one not holding the baseball bat. 'We have matters to discuss...'"
After that, Ivan wasn't in talking terms with Ensio because of events that transpired after a evening out on town. Ensio had hired a woman in 2003 to please Ivan, but soon it became apparent that Ensio didn't have any money and Ivan had to pick up the bill. At risk of getting his knees broken, Ivan reluctantly paid the bill. This was a major setback for him as he wanted to build his own studio.
